How to Lose Weight in 5 Days

There are numerous 5-day diets on the market, but one of the most popular is the 5 Day Miracle Diet. The diet focuses on reducing cravings and stabilizing blood sugars to achieve weight loss. The creator of the diet maintains that peaks and lulls in blood sugar throughout the day lead to junk-food cravings that can add unnecessary calories and weight.

What Contributes to Blood Sugar
Blood sugar levels are determined by what you eat and when you eat it. The 5 Day Miracle Diet focuses on eliminating certain aspects from your diet such as caffeine, alcohol, sugar and starch so you can stabilize blood sugars. Once your body is in equilibrium, the cravings will vanish and so will excessive snacking which can pack on the pounds.

A Typical Day
If you decide to try the 5 Day Miracle Diet, a typical day will probably look something like this:
Breakfast: One serving of protein and one serving of starch.
Snack: 2 hours after breakfast, you can enjoy a hard-chew snack. Hard chew snacks are things like carrots or celery sticks that take some effort to eat and release their sugars slowly into the digestive system.
Lunch: One serving of protein and one serving of vegetables.
Afternoon Snack: After lunch, you should consume a snack of your choice such as a hard chew snack item or a piece of fruit.
Dinner: One serving of protein and one serving of vegetables. Every other day you can also add one serving of starch.

In addition to the rules about what you should eat, there are also time requirements. Breakfast must be eaten within 30 minutes of waking and lunch must be consumed before 1pm. Dinner should be finished before 7pm according to the diet plan. During the entire 5 day regimen, certain foods are off limits such as bananas, yogurt and bagels.

Exercise
Of course, the 5 Day Miracle Diet attempts to sprinkle in some exercise as well. Unlike other diets, exercise isn’t a main focus by any means, but there is a chapter devoted to pinpointing certain exercises that should be tried. Unfortunately, since the diet is only 5 days long, most of the exercises aren’t helpful unless continued past the initial term of the plan.

Results
The bottom line is that while the 5 Day Miracle Diet itself is not sustainable, the principles it teaches are. Stay away from junk food, exercise moderately and drink plenty of water. If these things are done, you’ll not only look better, but you’ll feel better too. The diet may only be 5 days long, but the habits it teaches can last a lifetime.
