How to Lose Weight in a Month

In terms of diets, a month is enough time to lose weight. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, get in shape or simply slim down and tone your body in preparation of a big event, a month is more than enough time to make the changes you need to lose noticeable amounts of weight.

Types of Diets
In a month you can participate in nearly any fad diet on the market and enjoy the initial stages of weight loss to get in shape for your big event. From Atkins to the HCG Diet there are plenty of choices that will fit into your time frame.

Research
With just one month to experience the entire diet, it’s important to do your research and gather your tools ahead of time. Have everything you need for the diet on hand so your efforts aren’t suddenly side railed leading to delays in your weight loss. If you’re taking pills or drops, stock up on a month’s supply. Avoiding carbs? Make sure you have plenty of recipes printed and ready to go. Do whatever it takes to get prepared before you start down your diet journey.

Diet
Almost every month long program is going to focus on eating as the main component. You can either forego a food group or get realistic about your eating habits and change the way you eat rather than what you eat.

Breaking Your Habits
They say it takes 30 days to break a bad habit and if your bad habit has to do with food, the month long diet is the perfect amount of time to over come bad eating habits. Give your self a reward at the end of the 30-day period so you have something to look forward to and something to achieve.

Divided Plates
If portion control is your issue, consider getting divided plates. These types of plates give you a visual clue of how much food to serve yourself. If you’re not into eating off of divided plates, you can always get scoops that are the perfect size for single portions or you can simply eat off a salad plate that forces you to eat less.

Exercise
No diet can completely discount exercise. In 30 days you won’t go from soft to ripped, but you can make some serious headway in toning muscles and getting in shape. Start by joining a gym or making plans with friends to go walking or running. Having a work out partner makes you more likely to stick to your routine.

Results
Between eating differently and exercising a little bit, you should see some differences in your weight within the first month of your new routine. Try different weight loss techniques to see what works for you.
